What would you do if...

...you gave birth to a baby and then after a year, the hospital told you they had a mix up and gave you the wrong baby? Would you want to trade the baby you already have for the one you gave birth to?

I was asked this and thought it was an interesting question to share.

My answer: I don't really know. At first, I said yes because the baby wouldn't know because they're only one year old, but I would later tell my birth child when he/she's older. Then I thought about it and decided that perhaps the situation was fate and I've already grown to love that child. I'm too young to have kids to have experience with this.

I would have to swop, just because the biological child should be with the biological parents if it can - adoption is of course fine, but I would feel like I were robbing that child of the way it should have grown up.
